Behavior Plan
"The 5L's... Listen, Look, Learn, Love, and Laugh!"
Class Rules
The 5 L's of Kindergarten
LISTEN: We will listen with our ears.
LOOK: We will look at the person who is talking.
LEARN: We will help our class learn by...
...working quietly
...walking quietly in our room and the hall
...keeping our hands, feet, and objects to ourselves
LOVE: We will show love to our classmates by...
...respecting the rights and property of others
LAUGH: We will laugh together often, but we will not laugh at others.
If a student makes a poor behavior choice, s/he will change their assigned card from green to yellow. Yellow is a warning color. If the student continues to make poor behavioral choices, s/he will change their card from yellow to orange. Following orange, continued disruptive behavior will result in the student's card changed to red and finally black.
Consequences
Yellow serves as a warning.
Please note that a child can move back to green if the problem behavior is corrected. At Moore we use Positive Behavior Support, with a focus on changing behavior and rewarding positive choices.
Orange: note from the teacher and "straight face" on behavior chart.
Red: phone call and note from teacher.
Black: referral to the office to minimize disruption to instruction. Parent will receive a phone call from teacher and an administrator.

- If a child willfully breaks school rules, each infraction is documented. After 3 documented incidents, parent signatures are required on the documented form. If a child is "written up" 5 times in a week, the child is sent to the office with an official referral. Parents will be asked to come and meet with an administrator. If a student reaches this point, I will have talked to parents multiple times prior to a referral.
- If a child endangers another person, s/he will forego the 5 documented incidents prerequisite and immediately report to the office with an official "write up". Parents will be called to the school.
- Please see the handbook for further clarification about teacher managed discipline vs administrator managed discipline.
