Vital Information...
- ALL money (lunch, picture, PTA, field trip, etc.) MUST be sent in a sealed envelope or sandwich baggie WITH your child's NAME clearly written on the envelope/baggie.
- Use the daily blue folder's pocket to send notes and money to me.
- A behavior report is sent home daily for parents' initials. Please sign or initial daily so that we know you've seen the folder information.
- Reading to your child every night is a grade level expectation. This is the MOST important piece of homework. Please sign, date, and write the title in the reading log that remains in the daily blue folder.
- When your child fills 4 reading logs, s/he will earn entry into the 100 Book Club! As your child continues to add books to their reading logs, s/he may progress into the 200 and 300 Book Clubs! Your child's name will be announced to the school to celebrate this milestone and s/he will receive a "prize" from me. :)
- Students have an afternoon snack each day. Our lunch is before 11 am, so children are typically hungry and distracted from learning by late afternoon. We ask that students bring a snack, following these guidelines:
- .....NO soda/sugary drinks
- .....No candy
- .....appropriate examples are crackers, fruit chews, Gold Fish, Teddy Grahams, granola bars, popcorn, cereal, cookies and water, Capri-Sun, or Hi-C.
- The school building opens at 8:15. When your student arrives, he/she will proceed to the cafeteria to wait to be dismissed to our classroom. The first bell rings at 8:35, and students will then be dismissed to the classroom. The tardy bell rings at 8:45. If you arrive after the tardy bell, please accompany your child to the office to sign in. The dismissal bell rings at 3:10.
- Please send a note when your child’s method of transportation changes. If you must change transportation plans during the day, please try to call the office before 2:00 pm. We are out of the room from 2:00 to 2:45 and we may not receive the message after 2:00pm.
- Communication: Homework folders are blue folders. We check the folders every morning so it is important that every child brings his/her folder with the behavior card and homework. Please place notes and money in the blue folders. On Tuesdays, folders include additional school-wide information as well as progress reports and report cards.
